Jardin de Saint Martin

These are the Jardins de Saint Martin, my favourite place in Monaco – all you can hear out here are the waves and the birds; it is by far one of the most relaxing spots of Monaco.

It is a lovely, shaded, green space where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere or walk around and see the little curiosities in the park like the South American cactus walkway, the East Asian koi fishpond or the many statues around the garden. As we walked through, some of you might have spotted the statue dedicated to Grace Kelly, who is now kind of revered as a goddess here in Monaco.

Here on this balcony, we have the Sailor Prince of Monaco, Albert 1. The idea of the balcony is that it resembles a boat, as if Albert is leading his country out into the Mediterranean Sea, while his country now builds around him, in the Fontvieille district on the right and the Monte Carlo district on the left.
